Jim Adams Ph.D.

imageJim Adams first cast a fly on California’s graceful Kings River in 1937. Founder of the antique fishing book and equipment retailer, Adams Angling, Jim is a Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club historian and has long had a hand in the preservation of fly fishing culture. Obtaining his Ph. D. in fisheries from the University of Washington, Jim was the first biologist ever hired by PG&E and was the catalyst of the reclamation of Hat Creek,California’s famed Blue River trout stream. Jim has spent decades chasing exotic species in the most remote corners of the globe. Some of his noted fishing partners included, Charles Hotelier Ritz, Roderick Haig-Brown, Andy Puyans, Russell Chatham and Woody Sexton.
