Nelson Rossig

Eureka California’s beloved Nelson Rossig is an icon of the Eel River. Continuing to fish the river at age 100, he has collected over 93 years of experience along the river’s tidewater pools. As a kid, Nelson combed the gravel bars collecting the discarded flies of early Eel River legends Sam Wells, Fred Burnham and Lloyd Silvius. Today, the sharp-minded Nelson is adored by fellow anglers, and continues to be ‘The Source’ for information about early Eel River fly fishing.
