James Milton Green was one of the greatest distance casters and tackle designers to ever live. An understudy of Marvin Hedge and a handful of Bay Area greats, Jimmy Green was the first man to ever cast a fly over 200 feet. Inventor of the ferrulite ferrel and shooting head, Jimmy remained a student of the sport until his death in 2002. He was a key figure in the perennial dominance of the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club on the world-casting scene during the 1940s and 50s.
