Myron Gregory

imageWorld-class angler and caster Myron Gregory has long been a celebrated member of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club. On top of being a mentor to world champion distance casters, Jimmy Green, Buddy Tarantino and Steve Rajeff, Myron was the father of the modern line-weight designation system used by the American Fishing Tackle Manufacturers Association. Myron also produced numerous 16mm films on various aspects of fly fishing, most notably Chinook Salmon on the Fly, which introduced the country to Bill Schaadt. Myron helped pioneer fly fishing for Kelp Bass and other cold-water ocean species. Noted anglers Hal Janssen, Dan Blanton and Len Bearden all credit Myron Gregory as an instrumental teacher in their angling careers.
