Karl Mausser cut his teeth on California’s coastal rivers. A good friend of Ted Lindner and a Smith River pioneer, Karl was a big fish fanatic. On October 8, 1957, along British Columbia’s Kispiox River, Mausser landed a 42 inch 33 lbs. steelhead. At the time, Mausser’s behemoth was the largest recorded steelhead ever taken on a fly.
