E.C. Powell

E.C. Powell was a master bamboo rod maker from Marysville, CA. Working with tournament casters from the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club, E.C.  revolutionized bamboo fly rod construction by devising a cedar-centered design. His unique design drastically cut down on bamboo’s cumbersome weight without affecting its strength. The design would help continue the long-dominance of Bay Area casters in national and global fly casting competitions.
