Congratulations to Shannon Moon, George Shillinger, Tom Weseloh and the rest of the CalTrout staff for hosting a great evening last night. Over 120 people showed up to support CalTrout and help raise funds to continue the good fight. Tom Weseloh was in attendance and updated the audience about current events/issues pertinent to California’s north coast salmon and steelhead. The evening was a great success, for all who attended.
During a conversation with Tom, he updated us about the continued fight to better protect wild salmon and steelhead on the Smith River. Looks like Ben Taylor and the Smith River Advisory Council are continuing to make great headway. Congratulations to all parties involved in working to protect the salmon and steelhead of California’s most pristine and healthy river.
Don’t forget this Sunday at 5:00pm at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, you can catch a viewing of Rivers of a Lost Coast and support the Friends of Butte Creek and the Sacramento River Preservation Trust. Promises to be a great event. Learn more.

It’s been an awfully long time since we’ve had a chance to blog, but that doesn’t mean the film hasn’t been moving. We are excited to announce a series of fund raising events with great non-profits planned for the next 4 weeks. We are also happy to say the DVD is at the manufacturing plant and will be available for purchase off our website within the next few weeks.
On October 17th, we’ll be at the Russian River Steelhead Society’s Oktoberfest 2009 at the Russian River Sportsmen Club pre-selling advanced copies of the DVD. $10 from each DVD will be donated to the Russian River Steelhead Society. The 2009 Oktoberfest begins at noon and runs through 6:00pm. Fantastic beer, wine and BBQ are included in your ticket and there will be a raffle with a lot of great prizes. Tickets are available at King’s Sport and Tackle in Guerneville and by phone (707) 869-2156.
Also on October 17th, Rivers of a Lost Coast will be making its British Columbia debut at the Skeena River Fly Fishing Film Festival. Alongside Flyboys’ Raising the Ghost and Confluence Film’s Drift, Rivers of a Lost Coast will be part of the festival designed to raise funds and awareness about current issues facing the Skeena River watershed. Ticket information can be obtained from the festival’s website by clicking here: Fly Fishing Film Festival
On Thursday November 5th, Rivers of a Lost Coast will be screening at the Delancey Street Screening Room on the Embarcadero as part of a Caltrout fundraiser. The screening will follow an hour of wine and hors d’ oeuvres mingling including a fantastic raffle drawing. All proceeds from the screening will help benefit Caltrout and the Filmmakers will be on hand for an Q&A session after the film. DVDs will be available and $10 from each DVD will be donated to Caltrout. Tickets are available by calling 415-392-8887 ext. 107.
On Sunday November 8th at 7:00 pm Rivers of a Lost Coast will be in Chico, CA, playing at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. The Sacramento River Preservation Trust and Friends of Butte Creek invite you to share the buffet dinner, your favorite Sierra Nevada beverages, and a small silent auction to benefit the two river protector organizations. Doors open at 5 pm, buffet at 5:30 and the film will start at 7 pm. Kids are more than welcome! Tickets are available: click here.

Well the results are in and you spoke loud and clear. The classic Rivers of a Lost Coast poster received more than 75% of the votes. We’re currently having proofs printed up and plan to have posters available for purchase by the end of next week. Thanks to everyone who participated and we hope you have a great weekend.
