Happy New Year!
We have a lot to remember in 2009. The film debuted in April at the 4-star theatre in San Francisco, followed by subsequent showings in 30-odd different cities. Along the way we met amazing people with amazing stories. Some of our most memorable encounters included a 9 year old superfan from Modesto who had been following us online for months, Jeff Schaadt, the nephew of Bill Schaadt in San Francisco, a handful of Eel River greats in Arcata and Fortuna and of course the fine collection of Northwest legends that arrived at the Portland and Seattle showings. In the written word, Larry Kenney’s stories in California Fly Fisher, along with Jack Berryman’s reviews for various publications and the thoughtful pieces in the Santa Cruz Sentinel and Santa Rosa Press Democrat all helped create an amazing year.
Graced with incredible hospitality all across the western states, we’d like to thank all the theaters, fly shops, conservation organizations, film commissioners and fans that helped make our 2009 tour as memorable as possible.
Happy new year!
