In a great surprise to filmmakers Justin Coupe and Palmer Taylor the new Director of the California Department of Fish and Game Donald Koch (who was finally confirmed last week by a Senate committee after a year on the job), showed up to watch the 5:30 showing of Rivers of a Lost Coast. A handful of Fish and Gamers attended the screening. After the Q&A session, Koch expressed his appreciation for the film with Justin Coupe, sharing stories of his father, who was part of the “Lost Coast” generation.
The film played to a pack house in Berkeley last night. Ky Boyd and the wonderful staff of the Rialto Cinemas continue to push the film with a 110% effort. Everyone is eagerly awaiting next week’s Rialto screening at their theatre in Santa Rosa.
Filmmakers Justin Coupe, Palmer Taylor and stars of the film Walt Bennett, Joe Shirshac, Joe Patterson, Chuck Campana and George Innes were featured on KCRA’s 6:00pm news yesterday.
The film plays again tonight in downtown Sacramento at the Crest Theatre at 5:30 and 8:00 pm.
